The Challenge

Google has been doing some amazing things with AI. Like helping academics map the human brain, helping genomic researchers build a human pangenome, and helping ecologists study birds at an unprecedented scale.

But when most people think of AI, they think “cool chatbot who writes cover letters for me.”

Google Research needed a way to showcase their most innovative AI work, and reclaim some of the cred they lost with the rise of new AI companies.

The Solution

Our team came up with a sweeping content strategy for Google Research’s YouTube page and social channels that made complex tech topics bite-sized and bingeable.

I served as Creative Lead and sometimes-director for this edutainment doc series we pitched and produced, called Google Research vs. _______.


The Results

+23% views YoY
+194% retention YoY
+46% shares YoY
+8.1% female subscribers YoY

...and the best YouTube comment we’ve ever gotten:
